Diabetes Program

The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a year-long program where pre-diabetic patients (5.7 to 6.2 hemoglobin A1C) are able to receive coaching and advice on how to live a healthier lifestyle. This program is available to pre-diabetics who are obese, have a family history of diabetes, or have a risk of getting diabetes during pregnancy (gestational pregnancy). At the end of the program, patients lose at least 5% of their weight. In doing so, 50% of people do not receive diabetes and those over 60 years old then have a 70% chance of not getting diabetes.
